We Spent A Day At Coffee In The Clouds 2025 & Honestly? We Want To Go Back! | WeirdKaya
If a perfect day had a flavour, Coffee in the Clouds 2025 would taste exactly like it: smooth, vibrant, a little surprising and absolutely unforgettable.

Held on 22 November 2025 at the stunning grounds of Resorts World Awana, the highlands transformed into a celebration of coffee culture, wellness, creativity and community.

This wasn’t just an event, it genuinely felt like a full-day getaway we didn’t want to end.

From Morning Mist to the First Sip

The day began with cool Awana air rolling over as coffee lovers drifted from booth to booth, discovering brews from more than 15 local vendors.

The atmosphere was already lively, with visitors taking part in cupping sessions led by experienced baristas, joining the “Brew Your Own Cup” activity, or immersing themselves in Shaun Liew’s introduction to specialty coffee.

It was also around this time we noticed something else: the entire venue was an Instagrammable dream. Every corner seemed camera-ready.

As the morning warmed up, others ventured outdoors for wellness activities. The Awana Trail Walk and Clearwater Way Guided Walk offered peaceful moments through protected rainforest paths, while the much-loved Mat Pilates with Line Pilates gathered a small crowd eager to stretch with sweeping mountain views as their backdrop.

A Great Lawn Turned Into a Playground

By mid-morning, families were already gravitating towards The Great Lawn, where the kid-friendly zone quickly turned into one of the busiest areas of the event.

Children hopped between a colourful inflatable play area, a life-sized Snakes & Ladders board, a giant chess set, oversized throwing bins, and magnetic fishing pools.

They weren’t the only stars of the field, the moment the cute humanoid robot and robotic dog strutted out, everyone pulled out their phones.

The robots instantly became crowd favourites, drawing laughs and giggles.

Afternoon Beats: Coffee Rave in the Clouds

After lunch, the festival’s energy shifted as beats from the Coffee Rave echoed across the venue. DJ Lucid and DJ Priscilla Gallyot brought the crowd to life with upbeat mixes that blended seamlessly with the mountain breeze.

Coffee in hand, guests vibed to a mix of nostalgic and trending tracks while the highlands turned into the most relaxed and scenic rave spot imaginable.

The sunset session was especially magical. The sky turned gold as everyone gathered around the DJ deck, sipping freshly brewed coffee and soaking in the scenery, it was the kind of moment you secretly wish could last forever.

The Big Moment: Awana-Exclusive Specialty Coffee Launch

One of the festival’s biggest highlights arrived in the late afternoon with the launch of Resorts World Awana’s specialty signature blend.

The crowd gathered eagerly as two coffee icons, Jacky Chang (2025 Malaysia Latte Art Champion) and Ryan Liew (4th Place, 2023 World Latte Art Championship & two-time Malaysian Latte Art Champion, hosted a lively latte art demonstration and tasting experience.

Cups were filled, tasted, compared and refilled again. The new blend drew instant approval, with many describing it as smooth, rich, and surprisingly complex.

It was clear that Awana’s signature coffee is about to become a favourite among local coffee enthusiasts.

A Glimpse Into Genting’s Vision

During the event, Executive Vice President (Sales, Marketing & Public Relations) Spencer Lee delivered a short but powerful speech that offered a peek into what’s next for Genting.

He shared that the brand will soon be introducing more Farm-to-Table products, signalling a deeper commitment to sustainability and quality.

He encouraged the public to stay tuned by following Genting’s social media, hinting that more exciting announcements are on the way.

It was a thoughtful moment that balanced the festival’s fun energy with a forward-looking message.

A Night That Glowed With Warmth, Magic & Fire

As evening settled over the highlands and the temperature dipped, everyone naturally gravitated towards the bonfire, which became the heart of the night.

Guests gathered around the crackling flames, roasting marshmallows, sharing stories, and soaking in the cosy warmth that contrasted beautifully with the cool Awana breeze.

It was a simple yet incredibly comforting moment, the kind that makes you slow down, breathe, and wish time would stretch a little longer.

The soft firelight, the laughter, and the easygoing mood created the perfect calm before the night’s next big highlight.

Not long after, the atmosphere shifted as anticipation built across the field. The crowd began to gather once more, this time for the much-awaited fireshow by BUDAKAPIMOVEMENT.

The performance erupted into action as performers commanded blazing flames with sharp precision and dramatic flair.

The spiralling fire cut through the darkness, drawing gasps and cheers that grew louder with every fiery sweep. It felt almost surreal, a breathtaking showcase that transformed the highland night into a glowing, cinematic backdrop.

Guests were completely absorbed, phones lifted high, stunned yet exhilarated by the spectacle unfolding in front of them.

It was a perfect combination of warmth and adrenaline, cosy moments by the bonfire followed by a fiery performance that pushed the night to its ecstatic peak.
