KUCHING (July 19): The Sungai Maong Wet Market’s toilet is scheduled to undergo renovation works on July 21, with a temporary toilet being installed at the market, said Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, Tan Kai.
He said the toilet renovation works are expected to take about six months to complete.
During this period, the temporary toilet will remain in use to minimise inconvenience for petty traders and the public.
“The temporary toilet is of excellent quality, and a two-day trial begins today (July 18), aiming to ensure that the temporary facility meets public needs before the commencement of the main renovation works,” he said in a statement following a site visit.
“MPP appreciates the cooperation and understanding of the public and petty traders during this period of upgrading,” said Tan.
“This initiative reflects our (MPP’s) ongoing commitment to upgrading public facilities for a cleaner, safer, and more comfortable environment,” he added.
