Screengrab viaWe will announce an initiative for those who still want to print their physical licenses. There may be a charge for printing the physical cards,” Loke said.
However, the fee structure for these services was not specified during the parliamentary session.
Despite this option, Loke emphasized that the Ministry of Transport will continue digitalizing services under the Road Transport Department (JPJ).
He further added that the MyJPJ app has successfully facilitated over one million transactions since its launch two years ago, generating nearly RM121 million in revenue as of 31 October 2024.
The app has been instrumental in streamlining processes for users, offering digital alternatives to traditional road tax stickers and licenses.
Additionally, Loke noted the app’s cost-saving benefits by reducing printing expenditures.
This announcement follows a digitalization push initiated in February last year when the ministry declared that physical road tax stickers were no longer mandatory for private vehicles.
Loke revealed that a notification feature would soon be added to the MyJPJ app to address renewal reminders for road tax.
