Six-Month-Old Baby Tragically Dies From Suspected Suffocation At Babysitter's Home In Merlimau

A six-month-old baby boy, Harraz Noah, tragically passed away after he was believed to have suffocated under a blanket at his babysitter's house earlier today.
The baby's father, Nazrul Nizam Mohd Tahar, 29, shared that he was informed about the incident by his wife, Ainol Izzah Raslan, 25, at around 11:40 am.
According to Nazrul, the babysitter had explained that Harraz Noah had shown no signs of distress before the incident. She had fed and burped the baby, then attempted to place him in a cradle. However, Harraz preferred sleeping on a mattress.
"After he fell asleep, she went to the kitchen to do some chores. When she checked on him later, she found him covered with a blanket, and his lips had turned blue. She immediately called my wife, who rushed to the babysitter's house," he recounted at Melaka Hospital last night.
Nazrul, visibly heartbroken, said this was the first incident since they had started sending Harraz to the babysitter's home four months ago.
"The first, second, and third months were fine. I never thought something like this would happen in the fourth month. We don't blame her; it's destiny. She cared for our child well and loved him like her own. She had even experienced a miscarriage before," he said, emphasizing that there were no signs of mistreatment or bruises on Harraz during previous visits.
The Jasin District Police Chief, DSP Ahmad Jamil Radzi, confirmed the incident and stated that investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of death.
The tragic passing of Harraz Noah has left the family devastated, with Nazrul and Ainol expressing their acceptance of the heartbreaking loss as an act of fate.
