SAIC Motor Malaysia is dedicated to making Malaysian roads safer with the Ministry of Transport.
SAIC Motor Malaysia has reaffirmed its dedication to enhancing road safety across the ASEAN region, with a particular focus on Malaysia. This commitment was cemented during a pledge ceremony in partnership with Malaysia’s Ministry of Transport.
The initiative underscores SAIC Motor Malaysia’s mission to align with Malaysia’s sustainable development goals and to create safer, healthier communities.
Emory QiFeng, Managing Director of SAIC Motor Malaysia, emphasized, “Safety is not just a priority—it is a shared responsibility. By working together, SAIC Motor Malaysia drives progress, enhances vehicle safety standards, and strengthens Malaysia’s position as a leader in road safety and sustainable mobility.
The pledge aligns with initiatives such as the ASEAN NCAP (New Car Assessment Program), ensuring Malaysian vehicles meet global safety regulations. MG currently sells the MG4, MG5, ZS and Cyberster. The only one of these models that have been put through the ASEAN NCAP programme is the ZS, which scored 5 stars in 2020 for a Thai-spec model with a 1.5L petrol engine.
This partnership aims to inspire confidence in Malaysia’s automotive industry, attract investments, and pave the way for a safer and more sustainable future.
SAIC Motor’s Vision for Malaysia
Beyond road safety, SAIC Motor Malaysia is set to redefine driving experiences in the country. The company promises to deliver the thrill and innovation associated with MG’s iconic lineup, which combines advanced technology with youthful charm.
