Four homes gutted, two damaged in Sri Aman fire

KUCHING (July 29): Four houses were completely destroyed and two others badly damaged in a fire at Kampung Tengah, Jalan Setawang, in Sri Aman around midnight today.

According to the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), they were notified about the incident at 12.14am, and firefighters from the Sri Aman fire station were dispatched to the scene.

“The fire affected six houses—four of which were completely destroyed, while the remaining two sustained about 80 per cent damage.

“Three nearby houses were successfully saved,” it said, adding that no injuries or fatalities were reported.

Bomba said the firefighters proceeded to extinguish the fire and successfully brought it under control.

After ensuring that the fire was fully extinguished, the operation was concluded, and the firefighters returned to the station.

The estimated losses and cause of the fire are still under investigation.
