Believe it or not, August flew by and we’ll be welcoming September over the long weekend! You’ve got not one, not two, but three days to fill up, so let’s get cracking on planning. For those of you who don’t plan on staying home to rest and recharge, there are tonnes to look forward to across the KL and PJ area. From Merdeka 2025 celebrations to fun little pop-ups, these are the must-know events that we think you should add to your calendars!

1. STEP INTO JUN ONG’S ‘IMAGINARIUM’ AT THE GARDENS MALLWhen: From now until 21 September 2025

Renowned local artist Jun Ong has unveiled his latest installation, titled ‘Imaginarium’, at The Gardens Mall. Part of the mall’s annual ‘Exploring Local Art’ exhibition series, the display features Ong’s signature light sculptures across six immersive, life-sized worlds. Each piece is made with materials and motifs that any Malaysian would recognise.

6. LET YOUR INNER CHILD RUN FREE AT THE WORLD TAMAGOTCHI TOUR STOP IN MALAYSIAWhen: From 29 July to 31 August 2025 | 10am to 10pm

This one’s for the kids who never let go of their little Tamagotchi toys way back when. The iconic Tamagotchi characters have embarked on a world tour and they’re making their Malaysian stop this weekend at Pavilion Bukit Jalil. 7. HEAD UP NORTH FOR PENANG COCKTAIL WEEK 2025When: From 1 to 7 September 2025

We know this goes beyond the KL & PJ borders but we don’t think you should miss this! Penang Cocktail Week is back for the third year in a row and it’s transforming George Town into the ultimate destination for tipples!
