KUCHING, Aug 29: Sarawak Tourism Board (STB), in strategic collaboration with Royal Brunei Airlines (RBA), has taken a significant step in enhancing trade relations with the Taiwanese travel industry while positioning Kuching as a convenient and attractive destination accessible through Bandar Seri Begawan.
This came following the successful conclusion of the Taiwan B2B Session 2025, a dual-city business networking initiative held in Taipei on Aug 26 and Hualien on Aug 28, as part of Sarawak’s wider push to expand its tourism footprint in Taiwan and North Asia.
According to a media release today, the sessions gathered leading Taiwanese travel professionals and featured structured programmes including destination presentations, business matching activities, and networking opportunities aimed at fostering new partnerships and strengthening existing ones.
A highlight of the Hualien session was an influencer storytelling segment, where travel content creators shared authentic experiences of Sarawak to amplify its brand story across digital platforms, boosting consumer confidence and destination appeal.
The Taiwan B2B Session 2025 was organised to achieve several strategic objectives, including facilitating direct B2B engagement between Sarawak tourism operators and Taiwanese outbound agents, expanding trade relationships across both mature and emerging Taiwanese markets, and reinforcing Sarawak’s unique selling points under the CANFF pillars which are Culture, Adventure, Nature, Food, and Festivals.
Through its partnership with RBA, Sarawak underscored its growing regional connectivity via Brunei, supporting the promotion of multi-destination travel packages that enrich Taiwanese itineraries with seamless access to Sarawak and neighbouring Southeast Asian destinations.
“Our presence here in Taiwan is not just a campaign — it’s a long-term commitment built on trust, consistency, and shared opportunity. Taiwan is a key market for us, and through this seminar and our collaboration with Royal Brunei Airlines, we are fostering meaningful connections that open new doors for multi-destination travel. Sarawak is ready to welcome your travellers with our culture, nature, and warm hospitality,” said Dylan Redas Noel, STB’s marketing director (North Asia and New Markets).
The engagement concluded with a courtesy visit to the Hualien County Government on Aug 29, reciprocating their delegation’s visit to Sarawak in September 2024. The meeting further reinforced ties and explored new avenues for tourism collaboration between the two destinations.
Collectively, the Taiwan B2B Session 2025 and the government-level engagement reaffirmed STB’s long-term commitment to Taiwan, underscoring Sarawak’s positioning as a vibrant, authentic, and accessible destination in the North Asian travel market. — DayakDaily
