6 Apple Travel Hacks That Will Simplify Your Trips
4 days ago
We teach you six simple travel hacks that you can use on your Apple products to make your travels easier on you and your mind.
Preparing to go on a trip is the ultimate time for your organisational skills to kick in. From packing light to making sure you have everything you need for your vacation, it can get pretty hectic in the days leading up to your trip. And the chaos doesn’t stop the moment you get on your flight. Converting currencies, keeping track of hotel keycards, navigating to your next destination, and learning a new subway system are all part and parcel of vacationing. Lucky for all of us, Apple’s ecosystem of devices and suite of features has made all these travelling to-dos much more manageable. For your next holiday, save yourself the trouble and follow these Apple travel hacks to keep the madness to a minimum!
1. NAVIGATE NEW CITIES WITH APPLE WATCHUsing Maps to navigate new cities has become a no brainer now with its simple interface and detailed information on landmarks. However, constantly looking down at your phone while walking is not only troublesome but also unsafe in cities where snatch thieves are on the rise.
To make things easier (and more secure) for you, sync your Apple Watch to your Maps and you’ll be led through the streets with ease. Little vibrations from the watch will help signal turns or directions and you’ll only have to lift your wrist—not your phone—to figure out your next steps.
2. USE CALCULATOR TO CONVERT CURRENCIESNow this is one of my most favourite underrated Apple travel hacks. Long gone are the days of having to load a currency converter on your browser to keep up with the exchange rates. Simply load up the Calculator app and toggle the ‘Convert’ button on the bottom left of the screen. Then, select your currencies of choice and voilà, you’re all set to keep shopping!
3. EXPERIMENT WITH CAMERA TO CAPTURE YOUR SURROUNDINGSBeing a new city or even revisiting an old favourite is always a good excuse to load up your camera roll with photos. Whether you’re snapping a new profile picture, capturing a stunning landscape, or immortalising a moment you don’t want to forget, your iPhone’s camera is the perfect handheld photography companion.
On the iPhone 16 series, Photographic Styles provides you with the freedom to adjust hues and tones in your frame. With that, you’ll be able to capture the mood better or simply add some charm to your snaps. Those with the iPhone 16 Pro can also enjoy a 12MP 5x Telephoto lens and 48MP Ultra Wide lens to capture subjects at a wide range of distances with great clarity and quality.
4. USE CLEAN UP TO GET RID OF UNWANTED DISTRACTIONSWe all know the frustration of trying to get a clear, unobstructed photo in a crowded area. Whether it’s someone’s obnoxious umbrella or another tourist’s inability to understand the concept of personal space, Apple Intelligence’s Clean Up function will come to the rescue. Access the function in the edit menu in Photos, circle the person or object you want to remove from the frame, and let it do its magic.
5. DROWN OUT THE NOISE WITH AIRPODS MAXWe get it. Sometimes, things can get a little overwhelming, especially when you’re in a bustling city or on a loud train. To give yourself a little moment of peace and quiet, bust out your AirPods Max (or AirPods Pro 2) and turn on noise cancellation. Want to stay in tune with the world but still have your own calming tunes in your ears? Try Transparency mode on your AirPods Max or use Adaptive Audio with your AirPods Pro 2.
6. KEEP THINGS TOGETHER WITH APPLE WALLETJuggling credit cards, debit cards, metro cards, and a hotel room key can get to be a handful when travelling. Use Apple Wallet to keep your knick-knacks to a minimum. Sync your bank cards, loyalty cards, and even flight tickets for seamless access. You won’t have to worry about fumbling through your purse to find what you need! Better yet, grab your iPhone FineWoven Wallet to keep the must-have cards with the one thing you (hopefully) won’t forget: your phone!
