KUCHING, Sept 17: Dancers from Alexis DanceSport Studio once again proved their exceptional talent and dedication at the 2025 Sabah DanceSport Championship, bringing glory to Kuching’s dance scene with an outstanding string of victories.

The prestigious competition, which gathered top dancers from across Malaysia, was marked by fierce rivalry and high standards.

Yet, the Kuching contingent stood out with their skill, discipline, and determination, securing remarkable results that cemented their reputation on the national stage.

According to a media release, the team was led by Alexis DanceSport Studio principal and Sarawak DanceSport Association vice president Victor Bong, accompanied by National Adjudicator A, Alexis Jap.

Adding further prestige to the event, Ker Sing was also invited as one of the adjudicators, ensuring professionalism and fairness throughout the championship.

Among the studio’s star performers was Amber Tan Ling Xin, who dominated her categories by clinching three championship titles and an additional championship with her partner Angus Tan Yan Hong.

Equally impressive were Ooi Shee Le, Bernice Cham Wan Xuan, and Ren Xuanyi, who each added championship titles to the studio’s medal tally.

In the top-tier Grade A categories, Vincent Bong Jun Tong and Voon Sin Yee reigned supreme, sweeping double championship titles.

Beyond the gold medals, Alexis DanceSport Studio also secured five first runners-up and three second runners-up, with many more students making it to the finals across various divisions, underscoring both the team’s depth and consistency.

“These results are not only a reward for the students’ hard work but also a reflection of the studio’s commitment to nurturing the next generation of dance champions,” Bong said after the competition.

Looking ahead, Alexis DanceSport Studio will lead a strong delegation of more than 50 participants to the Sarawak Open International DanceSport Championship on Sept 20, 2025.

With their proven strength and perseverance, the studio is confident of once again shining on the grand stage and continuing to bring honour to Sarawak and Malaysia in the world of DanceSport. — DayakDaily
