Amazon Luna goes all-in on free Prime games, and with a focus on party games
1 day ago
Amazon is giving gaming a “rethink” and introducing a new “GameNight” feature that heavily pushes local party games on Amazon Luna, all while still delivering on the cloud gaming promise it’s made for the past five years and making that even easier to access via Prime.
The “all-new Amazon Luna” will be launching later this year as a “redesigned and reimagined” experience that includes the existing game catalog, as well as a new focus on social party games.
Amazon explains:
“GameNight” is at the center of this new experience, with a “collection of social party games” front and center. These games are meant to be played without additional hardware, working similar to Jackbox Games. Amazon’s first entry here is “Courtroom Chaos: Starring Snoop Dogg,” an improv game that uses AI to power “Judge Snoop Dogg.”
Other new party games coming to Luna include:
While party games wlll be of central focus to Luna, Amazon says to still expect plenty of full games, and Prime members will be able to access more games for free. Amazon teases that major games such as Hogwarts Legacy and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will be part of the rotating library of free games for Prime subscribers.
This soft reboot for Amazon Luna lands sometime later this year.
