Police: Fatal stabbing happened near girls’ toilet of Bandar Utama school, teachers came too late

PETALING JAYA, Oct 14 — A stabbing incident at a school in Bandar Utama which left a Form Four student dead took place in the female washroom, police said today.
Petaling Jaya police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsudin Mamat said school teachers rushed to the scene upon hearing screams and immediately responded to help but arrived too late.
“Following that, a male Form Two student was subsequently arrested in relation to the murder of a fellow student.
“He will be brought to the Petaling Jaya Magistrates Court tomorrow for remand,” he told reporters at the scene here.
Based on preliminary investigations, Shamsudin said the deceased had suffered multiple stab wounds, with a post-mortem to be conducted at the Universiti Malaya Medical Centre.
Shamsudin also ruled out elements of bullying as one of the motive.
“Any further details such as whether the victim is known to the suspect is pending police investigations,” he said.
He said two sharp weapons were also seized from the suspect.
