This Adventure-Loving Cat Hikes Better Than Most Humans, Leaving Us Asking Why Our Cats “Only Want Aircond Room” | WeirdKaya

Most cats would rather stay home and judge you from the sofa. But apparently, some of them are secretly more athletic than us.

And one black cat in Malaysia just proved it.

A cat who actually loves hiking?

A TikTok video by user @lyrarooo recently went viral after she brought her black cat along for a hiking trip — and to everyone’s surprise, the cat absolutely thrived from the moment its paws touched the trail.

In the clip, Lyra guides her cat with a leash as it confidently climbs over rocks, roots and uneven forest terrain. It moved so naturally that many viewers said it behaved more like a trained adventure pet than a typical house cat.

The surprises didn’t stop there.

While most cats avoid water like it’s lava, this one waded right into a shallow waterfall and played around as if it were on a holiday retreat.

Don’t worry, the owner came prepared

Seeing how active the cat was, some viewers wondered whether it got tired or hungry along the way. But Lyra had clearly planned ahead.

She carried a special cat backpack designed to support her furry friend during steeper climbs, ensuring it could rest whenever the terrain became too difficult.

On top of that, she fed it small treats during their water breaks, showing that its comfort came first at every step.

This level of preparation impressed many online so much so that Lyra even invited other KL and Selangor hikers who bring their cats along to connect with her in the comments.

“My cat can’t even handle the car ride…”

As expected, the video sparked a wave of comparisons from Malaysian cat owners, most of whom admitted their cats wouldn’t survive even the idea of an outdoor adventure.

“How did you train it to be this smart? Mine goes hysterical the moment I put it in the car,” one commenter wrote.

“Forget going outside. I brought my cat to the front yard and it fell sick that same night,” another joked.

Many also confessed their cats prefer the “eat-sleep-aircond” lifestyle, rarely showing interest in anything beyond their favourite cushion.
