Elon Musk’s X (formerly Twitter) platform recently published an article regarding image generation through the use of Grok, the platform’s artificial intelligence (AI).

It said that it remains committed to making the platform safe for everyone, and continues to have zero tolerance for any forms of child sexual exploitation, non-consensual nudity, and unwanted sexual content.

“We take action to remove high-priority violative content, including Child Sexual Abuse Material (CSAM) and non-consensual nudity, taking appropriate action against accounts that violate our X Rules.

“We also report accounts seeking Child Sexual Exploitation materials to law enforcement authorities as necessary,” the social media platform said.

New measures now prevents Grok from editing images of real people in bikinis

Part of the update by X mentions that it has implemented technological measures that stops its AI from allowing the editing of images of real people in revealing clothing, such as bikinis.

It also added that image creation and the ability to edit images via the Grok account on X will only be available to paid subscribers, adding an extra layer of protection to hold users who attempt to abuse the AI accountable.

Additionally, the ability to generate images of people in bikinis, underwear, or any similar attire via Grok has been geoblocked in jurisdictions where it is illegal, said X.

No change in current safety protocols

The platform highlighted that the updates have not changed its existing safety protocols on AI prompts and generated content under X Rules.

“However content is created or whether users are free or paid subscribers, our Safety Team are working around the clock to add additional safeguards, take swift and decisive action to remove violating and illegal content, permanently suspend accounts where appropriate, and collaborate with local governments and law enforcement as necessary,” it said.

Earlier, the Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) said it was planning to bring X Corp. and xAI LLC to court over failing to ensure user safety in relation to the use of Grok.

MCMC had sent notices to the social media platform companies on 3 and 8 January to remove offensive content, but no action was taken.

The commission has also placed a temporary block on Grok for all Malaysian users, following reports of sexual AI-generated images which involve women and children.
