Nothing teases major Phone (4a) upgrade: better display, faster storage, new colors
16 hours ago
In the same video where Nothing confirmed that there’s no “flagship” coming in 2026, we’re also getting a teaser for Nothing Phone (4a) which hints at a major revamp to the budget series, and more.
In a talkabout its 2026 products, Nothing CEO Carl Pei firstly says that Nothing will “double-down” on over-ear headphones following the launch of Nothing Headphone (1), meaning we’ll probably see a sequel in the coming months. And, as we covered in a separate post, Nothing Phone (3) remains in the lineup with no sequel coming this year.
Regarding Nothing Phone (4a), Carl Pei says:
We’re going to be focused on leveling up our A-series with the (4a). It’s our best-selling series, and we’re really excited about taking this even closer to what a flagship experience is going to be across the board, from materials, design, to the screen, camera, etc. We’re cooking something.
So [Phone] (4a) will be a complete evolution of its predecessor across the board, from display to camera to overall performance.
Adding on to this, Pei comments on how Nothing’s design has evolved over the years, and how that will impact Nothing Phone (4a).
Rumor has it that this “bold” new color will include a pink model, but Nothing has been playing with other colors including a teal color on its Phone (3a) Community Edition.
The video goes on to talk about RAM prices, where Pei talks about the volatility in the market and pricing, with Pei reiterating that Nothing products will get more expensive in 2026 due to the shortages. He slips in that it is “upgrading to UFS 3.1” this year, moving up from UFS 2.2 that was usedon Phone (3a).
