Samsung teases 'next-generation' AR glasses and more foldables coming in 2026

During Samsung’s Q4 2025 earnings call this week, the company took some time to hint at new products coming to stores in 2026, including AR glasses and a fresh lineup of foldables.

The company had plenty of sales success in Q4, overperforming both year-over-year and besting its previous quarter. But the real news is what’s coming next from Samsung, and in addition to some (as expected) massive projections for its memory business, we also got a tease for “next-generation” AR glasses (via Seeking Alpha). Seong H. Cho, head of Samsung’s mobile marketing division, kept it brief:

Samsung began teasing its first set of XR glasses in October of last year, alongside the launch of its Galaxy XR headset. We’re expecting this first pair to ship without a display, relying on speakers, microphones, and a camera to communicate with your virtual assistant. But considering Google has since promised an Android XR-powered “monocular” pair of glasses to ship this year, it’s entirely possible Samsung already sees display-equipped glasses as this “next-generation” launch. With any luck, a tease during the upcoming Galaxy S26 launch will provide a little more clarity.

Speaking of the Galaxy S26, Samsung mentioned its upcoming flagship trio a couple of times, including promising a “successful” launch to power its first quarter mobile sales. But it’s the company’s foldable lineup that seems particularly exciting, as Seong H. Cho shared during the briefing:

Later in the call, another executive added:

We know Samsung is working on a “Wide Fold”in the face of Apple’s heavily-rumored foldable iPhone that appears to be on track for a fall launch. It’s rumored to utilize a 4:3 aspect ratio that’s more in line with, say, an iPad — and, naturally, the rumored specs for Apple’s folding iPhone. It’s a similar approach Samsung took with the Galaxy S25 Edge ahead of the iPhone Air’s unveiling, though, in that case, the entire debacle ended with a cancelled successor and a rushed ‘Plus’ replacement. Here’s hoping Samsung’s recent success with folding phones doesn’t end with similar results.
