M'sian Recruiter Claims Fresh Grad With 5 Months Of Experience Demanded RM6,000 Salary | WeirdKaya
Before a job interview, candidates must have a good grasp of their expected salary that’s within a reasonable range based on their level of experience.

One candidate may have inevitably thrown their chance of securing a job out of the window after requesting for a high salary but had little work experience to justify it.

Asked for RM6K salary

According to The Sun Malaysia, a recruiter took to Threads to share how the candidate made the absurd request during the job interview.

The recruiter said that the candidate was a fresh graduate who only had four to five months’ worth of working experience and was earning RM4,500 at their previous job.

However, the candidate floored everyone by asking to be paid RM6,000 monthly.

“After the interview, the manager’s feedback was: overconfident, not well prepared, and unserious,” wrote the recruiter.

The recruiter also slammed the candidate for making such an “audacious” request, adding that they must have “blindly followed” online advice about asking for a 30–40% raise despite only working for a few months.
