Huawei Mate 80 Pro is coming to Malaysia on 12 March, early-bird customers get free Huawei MatePad 11.5 Standard

The candy bar Huawei Mate series smartphone is making a comeback on the global stage. Huawei Malaysia has confirmed that the Mate 80 Pro is coming soon. Malaysians can also secure their unit early with a RM100 deposit.
The new flagship smartphone has recently made its global debut in Madrid, after its was launched in China back in November 2025.
It has been over 3 years since Huawei launched its Mate number series in Malaysia and the last device was the Huawei Mate 50 Pro.
Huawei Mate 80 Pro Malaysia Pre-sale detailsThe Huawei Mate 80 Pro is now available for “pre-sale” on the official online store and it is offered in a single 16GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. There’s no pricing yet so you’ll need to stay tuned for the local launch event.
The new flagship device is offered in three colours – Gold, Green and Black, and Huawei Malaysia is offering freebies worth up to RM2,115 for early bird customers. This includes the Huawei MatePad 11.5 Standard WiFi 6GB + 128GB along with its Smart Keyboard. Buyers can also enjoy 15% off rebate voucher for audio products and 5x Member points.
If you’re interested, you can secure your unit by placing a RM100 deposit online.
As indicated by the store, the Mate 80 Pro is expected to launch on 12th March at 3pm and users will be required to pay the remaining balance for it to be shipped out.
Huawei Mate 80 Pro Malaysia SpecsThe Huawei Mate 80 Pro features a 6.75″ Full HD+ (2832×1280) Huawei X-True Flat-edged OLED display that supports 1-120Hz adaptive refresh rate, 1440Hz PWM dimming and a peak brightness of 3000 nits.
For greater durability, it also gets a 2nd generation Kunlun Glass and it is also IP68/IP69-rated against dust and water.
Unfortunately, there’s no mention of the processor and this flagship phone seems to lack 5G support for the global market.
In mainland China, the Mate 80 Pro runs on a Kirin 9030 series chipset and it even supports satellite connectivity features.
In the camera department, the Mate 80 Pro comes with a triple-camera setup that’s housed in a large circular camera bump. It consists of a 50MP Ultra Lightning main camera that offers a variable aperture of f/1.4-f/4.0, a f/2.2 40MP ultra-wide-angle camera and a 48MP f/2.1 Ultra Lighting Macro Telephoto camera that offers 4x optical zoom.
There’s also a fourth sensor that acts as a “True-to-Colour” camera to ensure consistent and accurate colour output.
For selfies, the device comes with a 13MP front facing camera along with a ToF 3D Sensor for secure face unlocking.
In terms of connectivity, it supports 802.11be WiFi 7, Bluetooth 6.0 and 4G.
Powering the device is a large 5,750mAh battery and it supports 100W fast wired charging as well as 80W fast wireless Supercharge.
Out of the box, it runs on EMUI 15.0 and users can explore and download apps via the Huawei AppGallery.
Besides the Huawei Mate 80 Pro, Huawei Malaysia is also launching the Huawei FreeBuds Pro 5 and Huawei Watch Ultimate 2 next week. Earlier this week, they launched the Huawei Band 11 series which is going starting from RM149.
