KUCHING, June 12: The Sarawak State Mosque Welfare Trust Board (LAKMNS) and the Bintulu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (LAKIB) have signed a dividend repayment agreement worth RM9.825 million, to be repaid in stages over a period of 10 years.

Under the agreement, the funds to be received by LAKIB are to strengthen the organisation’s financial position and ensure the continued implementation of welfare programmes and social responsibility initiatives for the community.

According to a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) report, the signing ceremony was witnessed by Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, who is also LAKMNS chairman, here today.

Following the signing, a symbolic presentation of a mock cheque was carried out by LAKMNS honorary secretary Tan Sri Datuk Amar Abdul Aziz Husain to LAKIB chairman Iskandar Turkee.

The ceremony reflected the continued commitment of both institutions to strengthening financial management and ensuring that welfare and Muslim community development initiatives can be carried out more sustainably in the future.

Among those present were Deputy Premier and LAKMNS deputy chairman, Datuk Amar Awang Tengah Ali Hasan; LAKIB deputy chairman Dato Haidar Khan Asghar Khan; and LAKMNS chief executive officer Datu Abdul Hadi Abdul Kadir. — DayakDaily
