Spoilers Ahead

Why Does Sabu Get Agitated At Vijay?

Sabu is one of the locals who has a very good relationship with political figures and seniors in the police force. When his weed addict brother hits another local, Vijay and his team decide to take him to the police station for interrogation. Sabu’s ego gets bruised and he tries to threaten Vijay but it doesn’t work. Later, at the police station, Krishnan and Balan request Vijay to let the boy go because he is about to go on an international trip, and an arrest might land him in trouble with the Passport authorities. If he is arrested, his record will be ruined and the higher authority will not validate his passport. While Vijay listens to them to secure the boy’s future, Sabu thinks that he has taken bribes from the boy’s father while he was outside.

Why Is Vijay Searching For Saneesh?

Years ago, Madhu, an elderly local, took hefty loans from the finance company and failed to return the money in time. Madhu took his life after being unable to cope up with the loans and since then, his family has suffered as their property was owned by the company by default. Saneesh is one of Madhu’s sons who has not come back to the house for days and coincidentally, when Vijay looks at the crowd outside the finance company, the policeman sees his face. Vijay thinks that Saneesh has taken revenge by robbing the safe containing money and gold ornaments; that’s why, he wants to interrogate him.

Alex Is Forced To Discourage Vijay

Vijay’s boss, DSP Alex, has congratulated him for this posting with a lot of hopes. Alex knows that Vijay is a competent Police Officer and that’s why, despite him being the Sub Inspector, he has given him full authority to lead all the cases until the Inspector comes back from his leave. While Vijay gets acquainted with the area and faces trouble, a severed hand appears in a bungalow’s backyard. Days later, two dead bodies are found buried in the forest, and when the police go to investigate, they discover another body, which is just about to be buried. A cloaked figure knocks Vijay out by striking him on the head; when he wakes up, he rushes to the police station. By that time, Alex has started to be pressured by senior officials to close the case as soon as possible. Despite Vijay’s skills, Alex scolds him and demands Vijay to stop pursuing the criminals; this completely breaks the young officer. Vijay starts to feel helpless and thinks that he will not be able to solve anything.

Saneesh Attacks Shaji But Fails To Kill Him

Shaji is the owner of the finance company and Saneesh targets him because he wants to avenge his father’s death. He has not stolen anything from Shaji’ lending firm yet. Saneesh knows that Shaji is having an illicit affair with someone in the area, so he waits in the dark and slashes his car tires. However, as he is not a trained killer, Saneesh fails to kill Shaji and ultimately gets caught by Vijay. Saneesh admits that he and his family had suffered a lot since Madhu killed himself. Since nothing was under their name, Saneesh had to bury his dreams of opening a business and this is the reason he has tried to kill Shaji.

How Does Vijay Catch The Killers?

Vijay received a call from a jeweler that a woman came, tried to sell a gold necklace, but left without bidding for a higher rate. It was unusual because people would usually ask for a higher rate when they sell their belongings. When he reaches there, the shop owner cannot help much as there’s no surveillance around. Vijay checks the adjacent medical store and gets to know that during that time, a woman brought medicines for brain stroke. The gold shop owner’s son informs that the woman was talking frantically over the phone and her ringtone had very unique beats, like a xylophone. Later, upon checking the finance company CCTV, Vijay realizes that the bright light in the background during the robbery was from their own police jeeps. Vijay also remembers that he heard such a ringtone at Anand’s house when his wife’s phone was ringing. Anand’s mother also happens to suffer a brain stroke and for Vijay, he is the primary suspect of the case. Vijay also forces a confession out of Bibeesh after confronting Anand at the police station. Bibeesh has misled him into believing that the robbery was committed by four Tamil men, who are not locals.

Why Did The Police Commit Such Heinous Crimes?

Before Vijay got posted, the station arrested four Tamil construction workers, Arul, Anbu, Manikandan, and Kumar, who were drug dealers. They committed a bank robbery back in Tamil Nadu and escaped to this town to avoid getting caught. The police first arrested Arul and while interrogating, they hit him hard, causing him to fight back. Arul lost his life in custody as a result; Krishnan, Bibeesh, Sathyan and Anand wanted to hide this fact by all means. They conspired with Anbu, Manikandan and Kumar to steal from the finance company and after the job was over, the Tamil workers ended up asking for a higher cut. Krishnan and the others planned to kill them all, one by one; Anand almost got caught by Vijay while the former was hiding Manikandan’s body in the forest and he fled after knocking him out.

Does Vijay Prove His Worth In The End?

Vijay confronts Anand and tears his mask off in front of others, without knowing that almost everyone in the police station is complicit. Before Vijay can call Alex and inform everything, Sathyan breaks his phone and Krishnan threatens him to stay put. Vijay tries running out of the police station, but Vidya stops him; Krishnan, Sathyan, Bibeesh and Anand start beating him. It takes a huge toll on him but Vijay manages to overpower the corrupt police officers and almost knocks them unconscious. He is also able to send his message to Alex, thanks to Rema and Balan, who have remained truthful all along. Vijay not only proves himself to Alex but he also shows locals like Sabu that he is not scared and not ready to fold in front of money. Thus, Vijay sets an example for both aspiring police officers and the commoners; even if the world is against us, if we diligently fight for the truth, nothing will stop us.
