Unconfirmed Post Claims RTM Channels To Stay On Astro, Internet Already Celebrating

A Threads post claiming that Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM) channels will continue to be carried on Astro has been met with widespread approval from netizens.

According to the post made by an unverified account on Threads, calling itself HDuniverselive, it cited alleged discussions between RTM and Astro, which claimed the satellite television provider will continue airing RTM1, RTM2 and TV Okey across all of its platforms.

“We would like to express our appreciation to RTM for their continued cooperation.

“We remain in close contact with RTM and will announce further details from time to time as more information becomes available,” one Threads account, @hduniverselive, posted.

When asked for proof, the account showed a screenshot of Astro’s TV Guide which bears RTM programming past June 30, well into July.

It was initially reported that RTM will cease airing its channels through Astro after 30 June.

However, some users pointed out that the decision may not sit well with everyone, particularly those who had already cancelled their Astro subscriptions in favour of Unifi to watch the 2026 FIFA World Cup.

Meanwhile, there have been no additional details released via Astro and RTM’s official channels on this new claim.

As of press time, this latest “development” that suggests viewers will continue to enjoy RTM1, RTM2 and TV Okey through Astro services for the foreseeable future, remains a rumour.
