Tune Talk offers free e-Roaming in Saudi Arabia for Hajj pilgrims

If you’re heading to Saudi Arabia for Hajj or Umrah, Tune Talk is now offering complimentary e-Roaming on selected prepaid plans. The feature allows subscribers to use their existing data allocation overseas without purchasing a separate roaming pass or travel eSIM.

The telco says eligible subscribers will automatically connect to a supported roaming partner upon arrival, providing a “Roam as Home” experience with no additional monthly charge. The move is part of their efforts to remove the usual barriers to staying connected abroad.

According to Tune Talk, Malaysian pilgrims typically spend around RM89 to RM180 a month on mobile data roaming services during Umrah and Hajj, which underscores the growing need for affordable international connectivity.

Which Tune Talk plans get free e-Roaming in Saudi Arabia?

Tune Talk’s complimentary e-Roaming in Saudi Arabia is currently available for subscribers on the following plans:

Take note that subscribers with MyKad is entitled to one month of complimentary E-Roaming in Saudi Arabia.

For Family and Family Safe subscribers, the roaming benefit also extends to supplementary lines, making it useful for families travelling together during Hajj.

Unlike traditional roaming passes, eligible subscribers can use their domestic data allocation while roaming in supported countries without paying an additional roaming fee.

According to Tune Talk, there’s no manual activation required as the service connects automatically when you arrive at a supported destination. Just make sure Data Roaming is enabled in your phone’s settings.

Tune Talk Co-Founder and CEO Gurtaj Singh Padda said, “As a homegrown brand, we understand the profound significance of the Hajj and Umrah to Malaysians.”

He added, “We believe that during such a pivotal life event, seamless connectivity should be a given, not a luxury or a logistical hurdle. This initiative is our way of giving back to the community and taking the worry out of mobile bills so our subscribers can focus entirely on their spiritual fulfilment.”

Tune Talk e-Roaming is available in 13 countries

Tune Talk first introduced its e-Roaming feature in July, offering complimentary “Roam as Home” data roaming in 13 destinations for eligible prepaid subscribers such as such as Epik+ 50, Epik+ Family and Epik+ Family Safe.

E-Roaming is currently available in:

The feature is included at no extra cost for eligible plans and users can stay connected without buying separate roaming passes or travel eSIMs for these destinations.

While Tune Talk lets you use your domestic data allocation overseas, daily Fair Usage Policy (FUP) limits may apply depending on the destination country. For example, in South Korea, our e-Roaming feature was suspended after it hit the 2GB daily quota. The e-Roaming feature was restored after the next daily cycle.
