KUCHING, Feb 4: Two women pleaded guilty to stealing RM3,500 from a 65-year-old man, admitting to the crime with claims that he refused to pay for the massage and sexual services provided.
Magistrate Syarifah Fatimah Azura Wan Ali delivered the sentence to the duo, aged 34 and 39, under Section 379 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34, which carries a maximum penalty of seven years in prison, a fine, or both.
They were each fined RM2,000 in default of three months in jail.
According to the facts of the case, the incident took place at a hotel along Jalan Padungan around 11.30am on August 10, 2023.
The elderly man had checked into a hotel room with one of the women, who had offered him sexual services.
After he took a shower, she asked to see his identification card, claiming she wanted to know where he was from.
When he refused, she became aggressive, leading to a scuffle during which she grabbed his wallet—containing RM3,500—from the left pocket of his pants.
The other woman, who was her accomplice, was waiting downstairs, then entered the room, and the two women quickly left the premises together.
Following the incident, the victim lodged a police report, resulting in their arrests on August 16 and 17, 2023.
During questioning, the pair admitted to the theft, claiming the victim had refused to pay for the massage and sexual services provided.
ASP Arman Ibrahim prosecuted the case, while both women were unrepresented. — DayakDaily
