Driver rescued unharmed after tree falls on car amid heavy rain at Jalan Demak Laut

KUCHING, July 4: A car was struck by a fallen tree during a heavy downpour at Jalan Demak Laut last night (July 3).

The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Tabuan Jaya received the emergency call at 9.33pm and promptly dispatched a team to the scene.

Upon arrival, firefighters found the tree had toppled onto a car, obstructing the roadway. However, no victims were found inside the vehicle.

A public witness at the scene reported that the driver had been rescued by a friend and escaped without injuries.

The Bomba team proceeded to cut and remove the fallen tree to restore safe access to the road. The operation concluded at 10.25pm. — DayakDaily
