GOLDHEART and BURO Malaysia team up for ‘Pilates in Pearls’

Many ascribe strength to one’s physical attributes, but the real power comes from within. The drive to push oneself beyond expectations, the confidence to walk through life with conviction, and the courage to make decisions that are only possible with personal autonomy—these are the true testaments of strength. Sharing the same belief, GOLDHEART and BURO Malaysia recently co-hosted an empowering experiential event dubbed ‘Pilates in Pearls’.

Held in conjunction with Malaysia Day, the intimate Pilates session saw 15 Friends of BURO flocking to Kore Studio, the newest wellness sanctuary in Kuala Lumpur. The industry’s movers and shakers, such as Francisca Luhong, Saroop Roshi, and Sonia Naidu, radiated a warm glow as they got into the spirit of togetherness. The uplifting atmosphere was palpable, with guests embracing the occasion as an opportunity to connect and reconnect with one another.

The programme kicked off with BURO’s watch and jewellery editor, Nikita Nawawi, delivering the welcome speech, in which he expressed his appreciation for the attendees, as well as the esteemed collaborators who contributed to the event’s success. The spotlight then turned to Tomei’s head of group marketing, Lam Kok Wah, who introduced GOLDHEART’s Pearl collection—known as Perla—and highlighted its significance as a representation of unadulterated femininity.

The collection, which perfectly embodies the idea of everyday luxury, draws from the timeless allure of the pearl and reimagines it in a more contemporary setting. This can be seen in the curved silhouette of the rings and the delicate strings of the necklaces. The moulds in which the pearls are set range from the abstract to the figurative. From the graphic and boxy frames to the graceful tributes to the natural world, the pieces reflect the many facets of modern jewellery-wearers.

Feeling moved and motivated by the message behind the collection, the room was abuzz with excitement when instructor Michelle Teng took the floor. The session served as an introductory course to the Oov—a uniquely contoured foam apparatus designed to support and challenge the body—tailored to suit both seasoned practitioners and beginners. The guests had an invigorating time engaging with the instrument across supine, side-lying, and standing positions.

As the full-body conditioning workout came to a close, the guests made their way to the smoothie bar for some refreshing berry blends by Gokugoku. With their spirits lifted and glasses emptied, they were all set for the next item on the agenda: the after-party. Turning up the energy in the room was Nelson Teon AKA DJ Bathrobe, whose electrifying set had everyone swaying to the rhythm. They then shimmied to the jewellery counter to check out GOLDHEART’s chic creations.

The day reached a crescendo with the much-anticipated prize presentation. Guests who participated in the ‘Snap and Win’ contest stood a chance to take home GOLDHEART’s Ginkyo Leaf bracelet in 18K rose gold with mother of pearl. Content creator Melissa Tan was ultimately crowned the winner. But the rest of the guests did not leave empty-handed as they received a GOLDHEART elegant carry bag, a RM100 shopping voucher, a one-month unlimited pass by Kore Studio, and a Lip Oil Balm by Clarins.
