Superman Soars Into Streaming On HBO Max

The Man of Steel is back—and he’s flying faster than ever into the hearts of fans around the world. DC Studios’ highly anticipated Superman will make its global streaming debut exclusively on HBO Max this Friday, September 19, marking a major moment in the newly reimagined DC Universe.

Directed and written by James Gunn, the film introduces a fresh take on the iconic superhero, blending epic action, heartwarming moments, and a dash of signature humour. Unlike darker portrayals of recent years, this Superman is fuelled by compassion and an unwavering belief in humanity’s potential for good—a timely message in today’s world.

Leading the charge is David Corenswet (Twisters, Hollywood), stepping into the dual role of Clark Kent/Superman with a grounded and hopeful performance. Opposite him, Rachel Brosnahan (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel) brings wit and strength to the iconic role of Lois Lane, while Nicholas Hoult (X-Men, Juror #2) transforms into a chilling yet compelling Lex Luthor.

The star-studded ensemble also includes Edi Gathegi (For All Mankind), Anthony Carrigan (Barry, Gotham), Nathan Fillion (Guardians of the Galaxy, The Suicide Squad), Isabela Merced (The Last of Us Season 2, Alien: Romulus) and Alan Tudyk (Andor).
