A family in Kedah had no idea that their house had been sheltering an uninvited guest before calls were made to remove “it”.
“I thought it was a Batik cloth”
The officers from the Malaysian Civil Defence Force (APM) were deployed to the house in Sungai Petani to remove the snake, but they, too, did not expect to face such a huge reptile.
The teenager’s mum, who is also a teacher, said that her daughter had just returned home from school and noticed the damaged ceiling in the toilet, which made her terrified to use the toilet.
“I was having a meeting when my daughter sent me a picture of the damaged ceiling. I saw something that resembled a Batik cloth.”
“I was baffled about the presence of the cloth, so I zoomed in and realised that it was actually a python,” the mother said.
The teacher also mentioned that she was shocked by the size of the reptile, and thought it was an “anaconda” when it fell down from the ceiling during the APM operation.
She also pointed out that she felt lucky that the reptile’s presence was noticed earlier, as she couldn’t imagine the consequences if the huge python had slithered its way into the house.
The family is traumatised to use the toilet following the incident
She believes that the snake likely crawled in through the durian tree farm behind the house after noticing the flower pot was overturned two days before the incident.
Following the removal, she cleaned the house, including the carpet, to remove the stench of the snake.
The incident, however, still traumatises the family, especially when they have to use the bathroom, reported Sinar Harian.
