Manulife Launches MultiCI Enrich to Support Malaysians Through Every Stage of Their Health Journey

Manulife Malaysia announced the launch of Manulife MultiCI Enrich (MME), a multistage critical illness (CI) solution designed to support Malaysians from early detection and treatment of critical illnesses through to long‑term recovery. Drawing on insights from Manulife’s Asia Care Survey (ACS) 2025, which highlights a fundamental shift in how Malaysians perceive ageing and well-being, MultiCI Enrich helps address a future in which people live longer but face rising uncertainty in their ability to prepare for, respond to, and recover financially from a critical illness.

As Malaysians enjoy longer lifespans while facing rising rates of lifestyle‑related and chronic diseases, the nature of illness has evolved. A diagnosis is no longer a one‑time event. Many individuals now manage recurring or progressive conditions over extended periods, alongside rising medical costs and increasingly complex care pathways. MME responds to these realities by offering multi-stage, multi-claim coverage up to age 99, for recurring or progressive conditions, and by integrating preventive and personalised health tools to help Malaysians stay healthier for longer.

Findings from the ACS show that Malaysians increasingly prioritise quality of life over simply living longer, with seven in ten recognising that financial well‑being directly influences how long they can maintain their health.

These findings highlight a widening longevity gap, where longer lives do not always mean healthier or financially secure ones. The launch of MME underscores Manulife’s continued commitment to delivering innovative health and protection solutions that reflect the evolving needs and challenges of Malaysians, helping individuals not only in times of crisis, but throughout their lifetime.

About Manulife MultiCI Enrich – A New Standard for Critical Illness Protection

Traditional critical illness plans were built for an earlier era, when diagnoses came later, treatments were limited, and policies often ended as early as age 65. Many provided only a single payout and terminated immediately after a claim, leaving families exposed to future health risks.

MME seeks to close these long‑standing gaps by offering:

Bringing Global Health Innovation to Malaysian Families

Manulife MultiCI Enrich incorporates additional tools and benefits designed to support more personalised and longer‑term health management, including:

Support for Critical Health Events Beyond Traditional Definitions

Not all serious health events fall neatly within a standard critical illness definition. ICU admissions, complex surgeries, and other acute incidents can impose sudden and substantial financial strain.

To address this, MME includes Admission Event Coverage, providing meaningful support during unexpected hospital events—helping families stay financially resilient during major medical crises.
