The LiberNovo Maxis ergonomic chair sets a new standard for big and tall users

Anyone who has ever used a properly designed ergonomic chair will know the difference it can make to comfort, especially when working longer hours. Taller and larger-framed professionals, however, can find it challenging to enjoy the same benefits. That’s the problem the LiberNovo Maxis set out to solve — bringing the core innovations of the award-winning LiberNovo Omni, positioned as the world’s first dynamic ergonomic chair, into a design tailored for bigger and taller users. Key features including the Bionic FlexFit Backrest, Dynamic Support System, and Motorized Massage Mode have all been retained in the Maxis series, alongside the premium engineering that helped the Omni earn Red Dot: Product Design 2026 and iF Design Award 2026.

All the benefits of the LiberNovo Omni

The LiberNovo Omni is positioned as the world’s first dynamic ergonomic chair, with an impressive feature-set:

It’s these features which saw the chair collect multiple awards: Red Dot: Product Design 2026, iF Design Award 2026, and Greenguard Gold Certification. All of these features have been retained in the LiberNovo Maxis.

Millions of taller and larger-framed office workers will be familiar with the literal pain of chairs that are designed around an average body size. If the seat is too small, it puts undue pressure on your hips and thighs. Shallow backrests fail to support the full length of a taller spine. Insufficient weight capacity eliminates the responsive recline that makes modern ergonomic chairs effective.

All of these issues can lead to discomfort at best, and chronic lower back pain, sciatica, and hip numbness at worst.

The LiberNovo Maxis series is not simply a stretched-out version of an existing chair. Instead, every structural and ergonomic element has been re-engineered around the dimensions and real pain points of Big & Tall users.

Most headrests have limited reach, leaving taller or more muscular users without proper head support. The Maxis headrest not only has an extended adjustment range of up to 120mm but a U-shaped curve to ensure perfect alignment every time you sit.

The backrest is similarly tailored for big and tall users with broad shoulders and thick backs in mind. It provides full coverage and deep support, while relieving hip and lumbar pressure during long sitting sessions.

Instead of being straight, the armrests have an arc design to ensure that broader bodies remain comfortable without pressure on the waist. Extended adjustment range allows your arms to rest naturally on the desk without pushing against the abdomen.

Taller users can find themselves with their legs dangling over the edge of a standard-sized seat. The Maxis has a 52cm extra deep seat providing full thigh support, promoting circulation, reducing fatigue, and ensuring all-day comfort.

Finally, the recline system built into standard chairs can often provide inadequate support, dropping abruptly backwards and creating a feeling of instability. The Maxis employs a 6-spring Controlled Recline System, which engages progressively based on angle and weight, delivering a smooth, stable, and reassuring recline.

“Big and tall users have been an afterthought in ergonomic design for too long,” says LiberNovo. “The Maxis Series is our answer—not a bigger chair, but one engineered from the ground up for users, regardless of size, to experience what Dynamic Ergonomics is meant to deliver.”

The Maxis is available in three models:

Two new LiberNovo Omni models

Additionally, the LiberNovo Omni family of chairs is being extended with two new versions: the Omni SE and Omni Pro.

The Omni SE offers better comfort in a simplified form. It strips the flagship down to its ergonomic essentials: manual adjustments, Bionic FlexFit Backrest, and a lower price point—making Dynamic Ergonomics accessible to a broader audience.

At the other end, the Omni Pro is where performance peaks. It upgrades the flagship with an integrated active seat ventilation system, purpose-built for power users, creators, and professionals who work long hours and need sustained thermal comfort.
