28yo man killed in early morning crash near Jalan Aman roundabout in Sibu

KUCHING, July 26: A 28-year-old man was killed in an accident that occurred near the Jalan Aman roundabout in Sibu early this morning.

In a report from the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), a call was received at 3.33am, and firefighters from the Sibu Central station were deployed.

According to the report, the single-vehicle accident involved a Perodua Myvi carrying three occupants that skidded off the road.

The driver, identified as Mackson Manggi Kassim, was trapped inside the vehicle, while the two passengers—a 28-year-old man and a 26-year-old woman—managed to exit the vehicle.

Firefighters extricated the victim using specialised road traffic accident (RTA) rescue equipment before handing the victim over to the Ministry of Health (MOH) personnel for further examination, who pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The female passenger was semi-conscious, while the male passenger sustained minor injuries. — DayakDaily
