Tunku Nadzaruddin leaves Balai Undang Luak Sungai Ujong, situation calm

TUNKU Nadzaruddin Tuanku Ja’afar left Balai Undang Luak Sungai Ujong here shortly after noon today, with police personnel stationed around the premises later dispersing.

Tunku Nadzaruddin and the four Undang, whose appointments are being disputed, were seen leaving the balai in their respective official vehicles at about 12.15pm.

More than 50 police personnel had been deployed around the Balai Undang Sungai Ujong near Ampangan earlier, with several police trucks also seen in the area.

Tunku Nadzaruddin and the four Undang were understood to have been inside the premises.

Media personnel who arrived to cover the situation were stopped from approaching the building and told to leave the area.

The development followed the cancellation of a scheduled meeting between Negri Sembilan Menteri Besar Datuk Ismail Lasim, members of the state executive council (Exco) and Tunku Nadzaruddin at the Tuanku Ja’afar Royal Gallery.

The meeting was cancelled on security grounds.

Ismail was later reported to have had breakfast with the Exco members and several government backbenchers.

Earlier, lawyers representing Tunku Nadzaruddin and the four Undang claimed they were unable to leave the balai because of a police blockade.

Negri Sembilan police chief Datuk Alzafny Ahmad also could not be reached for comment on the alleged blockade. - September 23, 2026
