Sabah polls: Hajiji announces Bonaventure Boniface as GRS candidate for Tamparuli

TUARAN (Nov 13): Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) will field Parti Bersatu Sabah (PBS) Pantai Dalit division committee member Assoc Prof Dr Bonaventure Boniface as its candidate for the Tamparuli state seat.

GRS chairman Datuk Seri Hajiji Noor made the announcement at the district-level Community Development Leaders Units (UPPM) Family Day celebration.

Tamparuli incumbent Datuk Jahid Jahim secured 6,843 votes for a 3,517-vote majority in a four-cornered contest during the 2020 state election.

Jahid currently serves as PBS deputy president under the Muslim Bumiputera quota.

Yesterday, GRS announced that the coalition will be contesting in 55 seats in the election. However, only the 51 names were revealed.

With the announcement of Bonaventure in Tamparuli, there are three more GRS candidates yet to be announced.
