Samsung considers 'repricing products' as it hits record DRAM sales

The price of RAM has skyrocketed over the past few months, raising concerns that Android devices will only become more expensive as traditional memory becomes relatively unavailable. Despite that, Samsung’s DRAM division broke records and made up 40% of the company’s profit in Q4 2025.

According to a report via Counterpoint, Samsung hit record DRAM sales numbers in Q4 2025. This likely includes high-bandwidth memory alongside traditional DRAM for devices. In total, the company brought in $25.9 billion in revenue for its RAM division alone.

The increase in just one quarter sits at 34% growth. The report also notes that those RAM transactions make up 40% of the company’s total sales, pushing Samsung into the top spot. The company is joined by SK Hynix and Micron.

This comes as Samsung recently alluded to the idea that the Galaxy S26 and other future devices would need to be more expensive to reflect the cost of production, according to a report from Bloomberg. The quote from Samsung’s Wonjin Lee notes Samsung’s concern surrounding semiconductor supplies, which drives manufacturing costs up as demand for HBM rises with the demand for faster AI from developers.

There’s going to be issues around semiconductor supplies, and it’s going to affect everyone

Samsung alludes to the idea that products will need to be repriced, which very likely affects the Galaxy S series. The most recent reports suggest the Galaxy S26 series will be slightly more expensive.

As for consumers, users are reporting massive increases in price for standard DDR5 PC RAM. Though that doesn’t fall into the category of high-bandwidth memory (HBM), there’s less fabrication real estate as Samsung and others prioritize manufacturing the more expensive memory used in AI development.
