A man was left feeling hurt, betrayed, and shocked after he discovered that his wife had been unfaithful to him.

To make matters worse, a visit to the hospital also revealed that she had contracted a sexually-transmitted disease (STD) as a result of her cheating.

Happy marriage (or so it seemed)

In an anonymous posting on XUAN’s Facebook page, the man wrote that he worked from home and took care of the chores and children, while his wife worked at a bank.

He added that his wife had worked at the bank for many years until it became her “second home”.

“I thought this was what a calm, steady marriage looked like…until one day, everything suddenly fell apart,” he wrote.

Wife suffered several symptoms

The man’s wife began experiencing pain, itching, a burning sensation, and abnormal discharge, prompting him to urge her to go to the hospital.

However, she kept dragging her feet over it and finally relented when the pain became too much to bear.

On the day she returned from the doctor’s office with her medical report, the man noticed that his wife’s hands were shaking and that she could hardly speak.

And that’s when the ugly truth came to light.

‘I cheated’

The man’s wife broke down in tears and told him that she had cheated on him with a colleague from work, although she stressed that he was just a person she chatted and had meals with.

Following the bombshell confession, the man was left feeling a range of emotions all at once, including that of humiliation, anger, and fear.

“Beyond the pain of betrayal, I don’t know how to face our child. I don’t know whether I was processing the situation and I don’t know what’s left of this marriage.

“Just thinking about our child calling my wife “Mom” and how our family was once whole and complete…my heart hurt so badly that I couldn’t even speak.”

Unsure of marriage’s future

After learning that his wife had an STD, the man went for a health check-up and was bombarded with questions from the nurse—an experience which left him deeply humiliated.

“I never thought there would come a day where I’d be fearful of my own body, my child’s future environment, or that this marriage would be nothing more than an empty shell.

“Whether or not this marriage will continue, I truly don’t know. Many say marriage is about two people facing life’s challenges together but when trust is broken, this “challenge” isn’t just hard, but devastating too.
