PM Anwar lauds Premier Abang Johari for driving innovation at Malaysia Economic Forum 2026

KUCHING, Feb 5: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today praised Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg for his leadership in advancing technological innovation during the Malaysia Economic Forum held in Kuala Lumpur today.

Speaking at the forum, Anwar highlighted the need for a bold push in the nation’s economic growth, stating that the gathering provided an open platform to discuss rapidly evolving issues affecting Malaysia’s economy.

“We heard earlier the emphasis on taking a leap forward, and I, together with my colleagues, feel reassured that we are in the right place, ready to mobilise the country’s full strength to focus on economic growth with greater pace and confidence,” he said in a speech broadcast live on the Economy Ministry’s official YouTube channel.

The Prime Minister singled out Premier Abang Johari as a prominent figure driving change and progress in emerging technologies.

“I am particularly impressed not only by the presence of fellow ministers but also by leaders like Premier Abang Johari, who are at the forefront in pushing for innovation and advancement in new technology,” he added.

The Malaysia Economic Forum, attended by policymakers, business leaders and industry experts, served as a platform to exchange ideas on strategies for sustainable economic development. — DayakDaily
