Kelantan Woman Fined RM2,000 For Having 100 Explicit Clips In Her Phone | WeirdKaya

A 32-year-old woman in Kelantan was fined RM2,000 by the Magistrate’s Court after pleading guilty to possessing around 100 explicit videos on her mobile phone.

If she fails to pay the fine, she will serve six months in jail.

Found with explicit materials during police raid

Reported by Harian Metro, the woman was found with a Realme 9 phone containing multiple explicit videos during a raid at a house in Kampung Kubang Telaga at about 8pm on Apr. 6.

Police later confirmed through forensic analysis that the device contained around 100 obscene materials.

The raid was conducted under Op Cyber Guardian by officers from the D11 Sexual and Cyber Branch of the Kelantan Police Contingent Headquarters, together with several other units.

Charged under Penal Code

She was charged under Section 292 of the Penal Code, which carries a punishment of up to three years imprisonment, a fine, or both upon conviction.

She pleaded guilty after the charge was read before Magistrate Fakhrul Razzi Abd Hamid.

Defence says she is a single mother earning RM35 a day

During mitigation, her lawyer from the National Legal Aid Foundation said the woman is a single mother working as a canteen assistant with a daily income of RM35.

The defence also told the court that she has a 15-year-old daughter and had expressed remorse over her actions.

Her lawyer added that she promised not to repeat the offence and wished to set a better example for her child.

Court says sentence should serve as lesson

Deputy Public Prosecutor Muhammad Aiman Syahmi Yazid urged the court to impose an appropriate sentence as a lesson to both the accused and the public.

The court ultimately imposed a RM2,000 fine, with six months’ jail in default of payment.
