Samsung’s Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G refine what already exists on the A series. Take features people already use, tweak them slightly, and make them easier to access in a mid-range phone.
Samsung groups its software features under “Awesome Intelligence”. Basically, small tools that save time.
Voice Transcription is the most concrete addition. If you’re in a meeting, lecture or even just talking through ideas, you can record audio and have it turned into text. It also translates, which is useful if you’re dealing with mixed languages.
Circle to Search, powered by Google, expands to recognise multiple objects at once. Say you’re scrolling Instagram and see an outfit you like. Instead of guessing, just circle the item — the phone pulls up results for each piece, so it cuts out the usual back-and-forth of searching manually. It’s handy when you see something you like and don’t feel like typing keywords.
If you’re browsing and want to save something, Multi-Window Drag and Drop is simple but useful. You can just drag images straight into Notes. No downloading, no switching apps. You can use it for when you’re planning trips, saving references, and collecting ideas in one place. It’s faster than the usual copy-paste routine.
AI Select works as a contextual shortcut. It suggests actions such as saving images, generating GIFs or setting wallpapers based on what is displayed. It is accessed through the Edge Panel.
You won’t use these all the time. But when you do, they cut a few steps out.
Both devices retain a triple-camera setup. The additions are not about expanding capability, but stabilising output.
There’s a macro lens for close-ups and an ultra-wide on the A57 for wider shots. The focus isn’t on pushing big numbers. It’s more about making sure your photos come out usable most of the time.
The more notable update is in low-light processing. Samsung’s Nightography improves brightness and colour without making everything look washed out. This is most noticeable in street scenes and indoor shots where mid-range devices typically struggle.
Design Changes Are IncrementalThe Galaxy A57 is slightly thinner and lighter than its predecessor at 6.9 mm and 179 g. It’s easier to hold for long periods, especially when scrolling or watching videos. The slimmer bezels also make the screen feel a bit more immersive without making the phone bigger.
A metal frame replaces the usual plastic build on the A57. This affects build quality more than appearance. Both phones come in a mix of lighter and darker colours, nothing too experimental.
Performance And Battery That Keep Things SteadyThe A57 gets a bump in CPU and GPU performance, so everyday things like scrolling, streaming and switching apps should feel smoother.
There’s also a larger cooling system to keep things stable during longer use. That matters more if you game or record a lot of video.
Battery capacity remains at 5,000mAh. It gets you through a full day, usually more. If you forget to charge or if you need a quick top-up, fast charging should get you to about 60 percent in half an hour. Samsung rates it at up to two days of use, though this depends on usage patterns.
