Apple reportedly testing new iPad Pro models and redesigned MacBook Pro

Bloomberg reports that Apple is testing four new iPad Pro models for spring 2027, in addition to a revamped entry-level MacBook Pro slated for as early as the first half of next year. Here are the details.
2027 keeps getting busierAccording to the report, Apple has been testing four new iPad Pro models, which should keep the current display sizes (11 inches and 13 inches), all of which are “planned to arrive in spring 2027.”
From the report:
Apple last updated the iPad Pro lineup in October 2025 with the M5 chip. More recently, the company raised the starting price of the 11-inch model from $999 to $1,199, while the 13-inch version increased from $1,299 to $1,499.
In the past, there have been rumors about Apple planning to launch a foldable iPad Pro in 2027, but those reports pointed to a much larger 18.8-inch display. The four models reportedly being tested appear more likely to be a conventional refresh of the existing lineup.
As for the new entry-level MacBook Pro, Bloomberg says:
The report notes that Apple “had already finished work months ago on a refreshed entry-level MacBook Pro codenamed J804,” adding that it “has been planned for this year with the current design and a new base M6 chip.”
Additionally, Bloomberg says Apple is aiming to debut the M7 processor “as early as the first half of 2027,” accelerating the transition from the upcoming M6 generation. The faster-than-usual rollout is reportedly intended to better support more demanding artificial intelligence workloads.
Finally, the report notes that ongoing memory and chip shortages could still disrupt Apple’s current product roadmap. But if the company stays on schedule, the new iPad Pro models and redesigned entry-level MacBook Pro would add to what is already rumored to be Apple’s “biggest product year” ever in 2027.
