Sony Xperia 10 VIII leaked ahead of 25 Aug launch event

Sony is expected to announce the Xperia 10 VIII (Mark 8) in the next couple of days and this is the brand’s mid-range offering that slots below the Xperia 1 VIII.

Ahead of the official announcement, the Xperia 10 VIII’s design has been leaked by Android Headlines and it looks quite similar to its current Xperia 10 VII (Mark 7).

Unlike the Xperia 1 which received a complete design overhaul, the new mid-range device still features a flat slab candy bar design with a horizontal camera bar.

From the looks of it, the Xperia 10 VIII will come with new light mint colour which looks closer to white. The raised camera bar still houses two cameras, an LED flash and it carries the SONY branding on the right, just like the current model.

The Xperia 10 VIII was recently spotted on Geekbench and it appears to be listed with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chip mated to 8GB of RAM. Strangely, this is the same CPU and RAM setup as last year’s Xperia 10 VII.

To recap, last year’s Sony Xperia 10 VII was launched in November 2025 with a price tag of RM2,199. The device featured a 6.1-inch 120Hz Full HD+ OLED display, Snapdragon 6 Gen 3, and a 50MP main + 13MP ultra-wide-angle camera.

Powering the device is a 5,000mAh battery that supports USB-PD fast charging. As you would expect from a Sony Xperia device, it still offers a 3.5mm headphone jack, microSD card expansion slot, stereo speakers and IP68-rated dust and water resistance.

The good news is that we don’t have to wait too long to get the full details. Sony has scheduled its Xperia New Product announcement event on Tuesday, 25th August 2026 at 10:00am Malaysia Time.
