Google Home update fixes alarms, improves media & smart home voice controls

The latest Google Home update is fixing issues with alarms that some users were experiencing while also improving media and smart home voice controls in Google’s continued effort to address pain points in Gemini for Home.

The most noticeable upgrade in the latest Google Home update should be around voice commands. On smart speakers and displays, Gemini “now understands a broader range” of commands regarding media and smart home devices. You can also chain commands in the same sentence.

Google explains:

This update should also fix an issue with Google Keep integration as well as an issue that was preventing users from creating or editing alarms and lists. Seeing as smart speakers and display are very often used as an alarm clock, that’s welcome news.

Rounding out this update, the Google Home app should clean up any rogue automations from third-party apps. The automations editor should also be a lot easier to use now, as starters, conditions, and actions are now listed in alphabetical order automatically.
