Every Look Worth Talking About from the Emmy Awards 2026

The 78th Emmy Awards traded Venice’s restraint for something louder. Lavender turned up on nearly every other arrival, gold came close to armour, and the strongest entrances were built on craft rather than shock.
Prada anchored the evening. Zendaya opened in a custom platinum gown of sheer tulle and precisely placed embellishment, worn with Mikimoto pearls and a new pixie cut, while Emilia Clarke went softer in dusty lavender silk faille with a cape-train and bow-fastened slits. Adam Brody swapped the bow tie for a silk one. Louis Vuitton had the maximal moments—Selena Gomez in a gold column built from beaded rows and Tiffany & Co. Bird on a Rock jewels, Chase Infiniti in black organza embroidered with hundreds of cabochons. Tailoring ran warmer, with Paul Anthony Kelly in a brown peak-lapel tuxedo and butter-yellow shirt.
Chanel went white and lilac. Nicole Kidman returned after nine years in a wool crepe bustier dress scattered with 46 handmade silk, organza and raffia flowers, while Sarah Pidgeon’s bias-cut slip spilled pearls and gold beading from its cowl neckline. Dior stayed strict—Grace Gummer in Jonathan Anderson’s Resort 2027, strapless and black with pearl buttons down a ruched skirt. Colman Domingo took the opposite route in custom Valentino: a sunset-orange mandarin-collar jacket, coral shirt, white trousers and a fuchsia sash pinned with a diamond brooch. Oscar Isaac kept it classic in off-white double-breasted Celine.
Then came the lavender. Florence Pugh wore custom Vivienne Westwood, blush sequins under lilac tulle with draping that read like wings, and Allison Janney found her way in via a black Pamella Roland gown trimmed in lavender ostrich feathers. Elle Fanning went cooler in Ralph Lauren’s embroidered mint silk chiffon, and Dakota Fanning revived black-and-white in Carolina Herrera Resort 2027, worn with a 19.46-carat Swarovski necklace.
Elsewhere, restraint won. Michelle Pfeiffer’s black Saint Laurent needed only a plunging neckline and an ornate waist clasp, while Julia Garner’s glitter-flecked Loewe halter and Riz Ahmed’s tailoring shared the house’s structural bent. Odessa A’zion had the best idea of the night in vintage Jean Paul Gaultier from Fall 1996—velvet-piped, gold-zipped, trailing tassels. Sterling K. Brown kept to a blue Brunello Cucinelli tuxedo, Sara Foster to Monique Lhuillier, and Carrie Coon to Maison Margiela, with a newly cropped platinum blonde.
