OnePlus has been forced to stop selling phones in Germany... again
11 days ago
After a patent dispute between Oppo and Nokia (affecting OnePlus) was resolved earlier this year, OnePlus will be forced to stop selling smartphones in Germany yet again following a second patent dispute.
InterDigital, a research and development company focused on wireless devices, holds patents for key tech in modern smartphones, including in 5G tech. A patent dispute between InterDigital and OnePlus has now led to OnePlus ceasing sales of its smartphones in Germany just months after getting sales back online.
Speaking to Allround-PC, OnePlus explains that it will “continue to negotiate” in an effort to continue selling phones in Germany and Europe as a whole.
It’s unclear how long it might take to resolve this latest dispute, but it took around two years to end the situation with Nokia.
In the meantime, OnePlus continues to sell the OnePlus Pad 2, Buds Pro 3, and Watch 2 in Germany. The dispute comes as the OnePlus 13 is expected to be right around the corner.
