'Bad Sisters' Season 2 Episode 3 Recap & Ending Explained: Who Visits Angelica?

If the beginning of Bad Sisters episode 3, doesn’t have you crying, then you, my friend, have a heart of stone. It seems our fears have come true because Grace has in fact passed. In this episode, the show explores Grace’s relationship with Roger’s sister Angelica and also Ursula’s guilt over giving Grace some pills. An old character returns to the scene, but why? We don’t really know yet. Also, I just want to add that this episode is peak TV comedy, and I thoroughly enjoyed every bit of the dark humor used to ease the pain of Grace’s death. With that said, I won’t turn this into a puff piece about how brilliant all the actresses are (Thaddea Graham, I’m looking at you too) so let’s jump straight into everything that went down in season 2, episode 3 of Bad Sisters.

Spoiler Alert

How Does Angelica Get Money From Ursula?

Bad Sisters episode 3 begins with Ursula coming up to Eva’s and just breaking down even before entering the house. The sisters all come together to grieve Grace. Really, we didn’t need to be crying first thing! They then listen to Grace’s voicemail to Eva over and over again, but they can’t figure out why she needed help. In the meantime, the guards (sorry, I just feel cool saying it the way they do!) are annoyed that Grace is dead because this is more paperwork for them and it also means their investigation is hindered, you know, with the suspect dead. Loftus even believes Grace might’ve been in the middle of a reckless attempt to get away because they spooked her. But hey, at least he really can’t ignore Houlihan’s instincts for much longer. She’s quite spot-on about everything. The girl’s trying really hard to get in his good books, and I wonder how much longer he can pretend that the young woman can’t out-detective him. They’ve got one question in mind though. Why would Grace simply leave in the middle of the night with no supplies and her daughter in bed?

On the other hand, a discussion about whether Grace was drinking and driving reminds Ursula that she gave her the stolen pills. This is when she starts to feel a bit paranoid, like she’s the reason Grace could’ve had an accident on a fairly empty road. Somebody has to identify the body, and Ursula volunteers because she’s a nurse. At the same time, Blanaid seems to have completely turned against her mother since her death, even failing to have a regular conversation with her favorite aunt Eva without being rude. At the morgue, Loftus and Ursula get talking, and she asks if the toxicology reports come back. He thinks it’s odd she’s curious, though I think it’s odder that they were an item at some point… or at least, nearly one.

At the funeral, Angelica acts as if it’s her sister who’s died, and the Garveys call her a grief thief. She then tries to sit with the family in the front row, and Ursula has to almost make a scene to get her out of there. But Blanaid doesn’t even want to take the seat that was meant for her. Roger sings a sweet song for Grace when the sisters refuse to speak about her, and Bibi joins him. They can grieve as they like, you know? I wonder if Roger’s feeling even a little bit guilty about the whole thing. Matt shows up to the funeral too, but he doesn’t interact with Becka or any of the other sisters. They’re also distracted by Ian’s return.

Ian tells the sisters that he found out about JP from Grace, freaked out, and got out of there. The guards then question him a bit, and Houlihan even brings up Grace’s dead father-in-law. Ian has no idea why that would have anything to do with him and excuses himself. At home, he asks if they knew about it, and they say they covered it up, which probably freaks him out just a little bit more. But it seems he shares a good bond with Blanaid, and they immediately hug it out as soon as they see each other. Later, when Ursula’s having a quiet moment, Angelica shows up, and they get talking. Angelica tells Ursula about how she lost her husband early on in life, and somehow Ursula accidentally tells her about the pills. At that moment she’s just so sad and guilty that she blurts it out, but this is a big mistake because Angelica essentially blackmails her into giving her 200 pounds to fix a window at her workplace after not responding to her for a week. However, later Ursula finds out from her ex-husband that the hospital has learned about some missing pills and is investigating the situation.

Who Visits Angelica In The End?

Meanwhile, Eva is trying to do everything in her power to get through to Blanaid, but the girl’s happier with Ian. Ian tells Eva that Blanaid is happy to be with him, so they should let her be. He is her stepdad, and they had a good thing going, the three of them. He even helps Eva with her breathing issue because he went through the same thing when his sister passed. Hmm, there’s something odd about this guy, but I just can’t put my finger on it yet. When leaving to get chips with Ian, Eva puts on Grace’s coat and notices some paper in the pocket. It turns out it’s bills for money she’s withdrawn—a lot of it. She goes to the sisters and shows them, and they wonder why she’d need so much money, but Ursula runs from there the second she hears about it. She realizes this is exactly what Angelica did with her, so it must be Angelica who blackmailed Grace to give her money. This is when she goes to meet her ex-husband, who tells her about the hospital. She immediately rushes there and tries to steal some papers from a register.

Ally happens to find her, and Ursula tells her that the pills were initially for her son Michael, but she took one and ended up sleeping like a baby at the time. I suppose she became addicted to them and has been stealing pills for a while now. There’s nothing she can do right now, really, but I hope Ally can help her. Before leaving, Ursula asks Ally if Angelica tipped her off, but Ally doesn’t say. I think she might have, but maybe it was just a coincidence.

At the end of episode 3 of Bad Sisters, we learn that Grace’s toxicology report came out completely clean. Ursula immediately breaks down reading it, but nobody can figure out why. Houlihan chooses this moment to ask Becka if Matt and she were a thing, but she lies that they weren’t. Finally, Ursula tells the girls about the pills and that she told Angelica instead of them. She also tells them about Angelica knowing about JP. Now it’s time for the Garvey sisters to go after Angelica, but that’s going to be a bit hard because it seems she’s brainwashed Blanaid. The episode ends with Blanaid visiting Angelica at work. I wonder what this is all about, but surely, she’s the one poisoning the girl against her aunts.
