“Companies awarded state government contracts will also be required to comply with this policy,” he said, adding that the implementation of the RM1,700 minimum wage will necessitate continuous monitoring and awareness from all parties.
“As a developed state with economic growth, the Selangor government will ensure efforts are taken to adapt to these changes without disrupting operations, while providing workers with training and education on their rights,” he said during the State Legislative Assembly sitting today.
When tabling the Madani Budget 2025 last month, Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim announced that the nation’s minimum wage of RM1,500 will be increased to RM1,700 effective February 1 next year.
However, he said a six-month moratorium will be given to companies with fewer than five employees.
