A Malaysian woman recently shared her views on societal expectations surrounding marriage after an intern at her workplace questioned how she felt about entering her 30s without being married.

The intern, who is 22 years old, expressed concerns about not achieving enough in life and remarked, “When you’re 30, you should have some achievements,” implying that marriage is one of them.

The woman, however, laughed off the comment and responded, “Achievement doesn’t have to come from marital status or material things.”
