From the makers of Drive to Survive, Apple TV+ premieres new docuseries on the MLS

Apple is now streamingOnside: Major League Soccer, a new docuseries from the makers of Drive to Survive. It covers the drama of the 2024 MLS season, with behind the scenes access to players and managers from across the league.
The entire eight episode season is now available to watch on Apple TV+, Apple’s streaming service. MLS Season Pass subscribers also get access to the first episode for free, giving them a taster of the tone of the series.
Produced by Box to Box, Drive to Survive helped skyrocket the popularity of F1 in America, with the Netflix series bringing millions of new viewers to the sport.
While the more limited reach of Apple TV+ probably means Onside will not become a cultural event in the same way, it will certainly help increase awareness of Major League Soccer ahead of the 2025 season kickoff this weekend.
The Box to Box influence in Onside is very much felt. It highlights the people behind the sport first and foremost, with the culmination of most episodes showing the progress of clubs in the league standings. It promises unfiltered, all-access storytelling providing a perspective on the MLS that has never been seen before.
All episodes of Onside: Major League Soccer season one are streaming now, covering the complete 2024 season. It’s currently unclear if Apple will commission a second season of the project.
You can watch Onside through the Apple TV app, available on Apple devices, Android, Windows and more. You can also watch in a web browser at tv.apple.com.
Also streaming on Apple TV+ today is the second season premiere of thriller Surface, and a new episode of sci-fi drama Severance. Upcoming titles include Dope Thief, Side Quest, and The Studio. Check out our comprehensive guide to learn about everything coming soon to Apple TV+.
