Samsung Galaxy S25+ Review: Power, AI, and Performance in One Device
4 days ago
Earlier this year, Samsung introduced the Galaxy S25 series, the much-anticipated successor to the Galaxy 24 lineup. With a strong reputation for cutting-edge technology, this release brings notable upgrades across design, performance and camera capabilities—along with the release of new AI-powered tools.
I’ll admit—I’ve always been an outsider when it comes to Samsung phones. But with so much talk about their cameras, performance and AI features, I was curious to see what I’d been missing. So, I spent two weeks with the Galaxy S25+, the ‘middle child’ of the latest range. Here’s my honest take on the experience.
DESIGNAt first glance, the Galaxy S25+ has the familiar sleek aesthetic of a modern smartphone, but its design details make a difference. The curved aluminium frame flows into the flat-edge design, and the use of Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both the front and back adds a premium feel. More importantly, it feels solid and comfortable to hold, even with one hand.
Another thing that stands out is the variety of colour options—seven in total, including Coralred, Blueblack, Pinkgold, Navy, Icy Blue, Silver Shadow, and Mint. Whether you gravitate towards classic shades or something a little fresher, there’s something to match every style.
DISPLAYThe Galaxy S25+ feels like a major upgrade in display size for me, with its expansive 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. The vibrant visuals make watching TikTok or YouTube a more immersive experience, while the Super Smooth 120Hz refresh rate ensures scrolling feels effortless—something I appreciate since I’m always on my phone for work. Plus, with a peak brightness of up to 2,600 nits, I never have to struggle to see my screen, even under direct sunlight.
CAMERA AND PHOTOSI’d heard plenty about Samsung’s camera quality from my colleagues, and they were absolutely right! The results are incredible. I’ve been using it to shoot content for our Instagram, and every shot turns out crisp and vibrant. With a 50MP main camera, a 10MP telephoto lens, a 12MP ultrawide camera, and a 12MP front-facing camera, it covers all bases.
The zoom feature is my favourite part—especially the 10x zoom, which delivers incredible clarity. The ‘Photo Assist’ tool also proves useful—simply circle an object to remove it, and the system seamlessly generates a refined image. Here are some of the photos and videos I took with the smartphone.

PERFORMANCEThe Samsung Galaxy S25 series runs on the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, delivering a noticeable boost in efficiency. Its 4,900mAh battery lasts comfortably through the day—often retaining 40%-50% charge by evening. Fast charging is another major plus. With 45W support, the battery goes from 0% to 65% in just 30 minutes. As someone who tends to charge their phone at the last minute before heading out, this is a lifesaver. The only catch? The charger is sold separately—but for power users, it’s a must-have.
Other than that, the S25+ brings serious power with 12GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage, offering ample space and speed. Multitasking is effortless, with no lag when switching between apps, and even editing photos and videos feels smooth and fast. No slowdown, no frustration—just the way it should be.
The integration of Google’s Gemini AI also adds an extra layer of intelligence, especially when handling emails. It can summarise lengthy messages and even break them down into bullet points, making it easier to scan important details at a glance—a useful tool for busy days.
THE FINAL VERDICTTwo weeks in, the Galaxy S25+ has proven itself as a powerful contender. Having used an iPhone for years, this switch has been an eye-opener, showing me what a Samsung phone is truly capable of. I’m genuinely impressed—its cameras capture stunning detail, the performance is incredibly smooth, and the AI-powered tools are both intuitive and genuinely helpful in my daily work. There’s still plenty to explore, and I’m excited to see how it continues to shape my experience.
The Samsung Galaxy S25+ is priced from RM4,499 and is available through here.
