“Way Back Love” has shared new stills featuring Gong Myoung and Kim Min Ha!
Based on a novel, “Way Back Love” is a fantasy romance drama starring Kim Min Ha as Hee Wan, a 24-year-old woman who has isolated herself from society after losing the will to live. A week before her death, her childhood friend and first love Ram Woo (Gong Myoung) appears before her as a grim reaper.
Ahead of the premiere, a glimpse into Ram Woo and Hee Wan’s school days offers some laughs. Hee Wan, who gets caught in an April Fools’ prank, begins to grow more concerned about Ram Woo. In a twist, a scene captures Hee Wan seemingly preparing to confess to Ram Woo. With her hair flying, she rushes toward the playground, but things take an unexpected turn when Ram Woo, with his hand on Ji Soo’s (Jung Ra El’s) shoulder, sets off a chaotic situation. In the following images, Hee Wan lies unconscious on the playground while a shocked Ram Woo stands by her, adding intrigue to their unusual first-love story.
The first two episodes follow the story of Ram Woo and Hee Wan as they get caught in an April Fools’ prank involving name changes. In a teaser released earlier, Hee Wan, after swapping names with Ram Woo, is shown living a successful life, sparking curiosity. Six years later, Ram Woo, now a grim reaper, appears before Hee Wan and tells her she will die in a week. The contrast between their past and present reveals the fateful bond between them. All eyes are now on the unpredictable week ahead for the two.
The drama’s writer Seo Eun Chae shared that she’s most excited about the storyline during the characters’ school days in the drama. “As a viewer, I’ve been eagerly waiting. I’m grateful to the director and staff for creating such a wonderful project and to the actors for their passionate performances,” she said.
She continued, “Unlike the original [novel], which focuses on the present, the drama beautifully and warmly portrays Ram Woo and Hee Wan’s school days. While those moments are heartwarming, they also contrast with Hee Wan’s present, making them even more bittersweet.”
Writer Seo Eun Chae also expressed her hopes for fans of the original novel as well as viewers of the drama: “I hope everyone who enjoyed the original, as well as those looking forward to the drama, will see the charm of the drama ‘Way Back Love’ as an independent project and embrace it with warmth.”
Episodes 1 and 2 of “Way Back Love” will be released on April 3 and be available on Viki!
