SHAH ALAM, April 3 — The alignment and gas pipeline network, particularly in Subang Jaya, will be reassessed once the investigation into the explosion incident along Jalan Putra Harmoni in Putra Heights is concluded.

Menteri Besar Dato’ Seri Amirudin Shari said this long-term review would be based on technical reports, including inspections with Petronas Gas in accordance with established standards.

“There have been proposals for a review, but the gas pipeline network extends across a large part of Subang Jaya, running close to several key areas.

“However, we will conduct an inspection with Petronas Gas while also reviewing all ongoing activities to ensure compliance with the governing regulations,” he said.

Speaking at a press conference in the State Secretariat building today, Amirudin added that an initial report will be released by the Selangor police chief, alongside a technical team, with each party presenting findings based on their expertise.

Simultaneously, the Subang Jaya City Council is currently assessing the extent of the damage and identifying the economic and property impacts of the incident.

He also announced that KDEB Waste Management has been assigned to carry out the clean-up operations, with assistance from MBSJ and Selangor Volunteers (SERVE).

“We estimate that by tomorrow, 100 SERVE members will assist in the clean-up mission. Anyone wishing to volunteer can register with SERVE, which is managed by the State Sports Council.

“Team Selangor will coordinate these volunteers to ensure a smooth operation in the affected areas. Given the limited space, we want to avoid congestion and prevent any disruptions to the ongoing investigation,” Amirudin said.
