LIMBANG, June 12: The ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition, held in conjunction with the Sarawak-level celebration of the official Birthday of His Majesty the Yang di-Pertuan Agong in 2025, serves as a vital platform to educate the public on the history and significance of Malaysia’s royal institution.

In a Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) news report, Minister for Education, Innovation and Talent Development and minister-in-charge of the celebration, Dato Sri Roland Sagah Wee Inn, emphasised that the exhibition conveys a powerful message about the monarchy’s pivotal role in the founding and governance of the nation.

“Today, we are exposing the people to the monarchy as an institution.

“Many Malaysians are still unaware of the origins and importance of this royal institution in the formation of our country,” he said during a press conference after visiting the exhibition at the Limbang Civic Centre today.

Sagah also expressed his appreciation to the National Museum for bringing an impressive collection of artefacts, historical materials, and regalia related to the monarchy to audiences outside of Kuala Lumpur.

“This marks the first time such an exhibition has been brought beyond the capital, and we are deeply grateful to the National Museum for making this possible.

“It provides a rare opportunity for the people of Sarawak, especially those in Limbang, to engage directly with the history of our nation,” he said.

The exhibition also features profiles of all previous Yang di-Pertuan Agongs, illustrating the continuity and enduring relevance of the monarchy in Malaysia’s constitutional framework.

“We hope residents of Limbang, as well as visitors from neighbouring Sabah, Brunei, and Miri, will take this opportunity to visit the exhibition. It is not only a celebration of patriotism but also a chance to deepen our understanding of the state system,” he added.

Running from June 12 to 15, the ‘Raja Kita’ Exhibition will be complemented by a wide array of engaging activities, including health screenings, a meal set competition, colouring contests, Limbang Talent 2025, ‘Jejak Dirgahayu’, zumba sessions, and more.

Also in attendance at the launch were Deputy Minister for Food Industry, Commodity and Regional Development Datuk Dr Abdul Rahman Ismail, Batu Danau assemblyman Dato Paulus Palu Gumbang, Sarawak Protocol, Ceremonial and Event Management Unit director Datu Hamdan Sharbini, Limbang Division Resident Unus Tambi, Royal Malaysian Museum director Rohana Husin and other distinguished guests. — DayakDaily
